At CivicsRUs, we believe that meaningful change comes from the youth: Throughout political history everywhere in society the young people who bring about change in business and communities, schools and unions, government and corporations, nonprofits and city officials, working together to find creative solutions and strengthen our democracy.
Our mission is to train, support, and connect youth leaders to build up and protect the communities they live in through being accountable and being knowledgable about democratic processes to hold elected and non-elected leaders accountable too.
CivicsRUs graduates will gain a deeper understanding of how city government works (School Districts/City Hall/City Council/Mayor/Public Works/Parks & Recreation/etc), the leadership skills to improve it, and a network of engaged and influential peers to help them reach their goals of making positive change happen. Participating in the democratic process in the town/city you live in is one way to affect lasting change that is proven to work! There is a saying, “All Politics Is Local” and it’s very true. Our youth working together with experienced professionals will fuel positive change across the communities where change is needed the most.
