Program Overview Thank you for your interest in Oakland’s District Youth Leadership Academies for the Spring of 2022. These programs are sponsored by CivicsRUs in partnership with the offices of Oakland’s District 1 thru District 7 Councilmembers, the Mayor’s Office, and the Oakland Youth Commission, Youth, and their Families.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW & DETAILS
The Youth Leadership Academies train high schoolers in Oakland to initiate positive change in their neighborhoods.
The programs will meet virtually after school once a week. All sessions will meet virtually in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Participants will receive $500 upon completion of the program.
ELIGIBILITY
o Current 5th-12th grader who lives, goes to school, or has a personal connection to San Francisco’s west side (Districts 1 thru 7)
o Able to attend all sessions
o Able to return phone calls and emails in a timely manner
o Passionate about personal growth and community service
